OnePlus Nord Buds 2 Review – For The Masses
Unlike OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G, the Nord Buds 2 provides real value at Rs 2999. However, it has some flaws that might be a deal breaker for some users, so let’s talk about its Pros and Cons.
OnePlus Nord Buds 2 Review
Yes, the OnePlus Nord Buds 2 is worth buying because of the price it comes, it offers a punchier bass along with rock solid battery life while Rs 2999 price tag is perfect for what OnePlus is offering.
For non-OnePlus users, the buds don’t have the Google Fast Pair or even Microsoft Swift Pair, nonetheless, OnePlus has provided OnePlus fast pair which only works with OnePlus devices.
Also, if you love to hear Punjabi music then you will fall in love with the OnePlus Nord Buds 2 as it provides a bit of extra bass.
The battery life is rock solid too, the buds provided around 7 hours of battery life while the charging case last for 35 hours at full charge.
Overall, the OnePlus Nord Buds 2 is a good option for the price of Rs 2999, so you can consider especially if you’re using a OnePlus device.
OnePlus Nord Buds 2 Pros and Cons
PROS | CONS |
---|---|
Rock Solid Bass | Missing Google Fast Pair |

Build, Comfort, and Design
These are budget TWS earbuds, so can’t expect premium build quality.
Still, for the price of Rs 2999, I don’t have any complaints about it but if you have used premium Buds and if you’re coming to Nord Buds 2 then you will notice that the used plastic is not that good.
However, the buds are comfortable to wear and OnePlus has provided additional ear tips which you can play around with and find the perfect fit for your ear.
The single bud has 4.7 grams of weight while the charging case has 37.5 grams of weight.
The design is kind of subjective, whether you will like or hate it.
There is also an IP55 rating as well, so if you want to use these earbuds in the gym then you will able to do it because a little water splash won’t damage the buds.
Overall, OnePlus knew that these will be budget earbuds and according to that, they have cut down on build quality and didn’t change the design compared to last-gen OnePlus Nord Buds.
Audio Quality – For The Masses
The OnePlus Nord Buds 2 has 12.4 audio drivers and they work fine. As I have said, the buds provided a bit of extra bass and there is nothing wrong with it as OnePlus is targeting the Masses.
Most of the users in India who buy budget earbuds love extra bass but those who love to listen to classical music and are happy with a little bit of bass can consider the OPPO Enco Air 2 Pro.
For connectivity, the buds have the latest Bluetooth 5.3 support, however, it doesn’t have the Google Fast Pair or even Microsoft Swift Pair which is a big letdown for non-OnePlus devices.
Again, OnePlus has provided an audio equalizer that is not that advance but you can do a little bit of tweaking if the bass is on the higher side.
There is also dedicated active noise cancellation which doesn’t work well at all, it’s there for the tagline.
Now, you won’t be needing the active noise cancellation as the buds fit really well.
Still, if you’re in public and there is lots of noise then you might think, I wish my buds had better active noise cancellation.
By the way, you will have to download the Heymelody app where you will able to see the bud’s battery life, change the gestures, play around with noise cancellation, and much more.
Now, if you have a OnePlus device then you don’t have to download the Heymelody app because all the app feature is added to the Bluetooth settings.
Heymelody is made for non-Oneplus devices.
Overall, OnePlus Nord Buds 2 are made for bass-heavy users, it’s not the best if you love to listen to classical music.
Battery Life
The charging has a 480mAh battery while the buds have a 41mAh battery. It also has fast charging, a 10-minute charge will provide 5 hours of battery backup.
OnePlus Nord Buds 2 | ANC-ON | ANC-OFF |
---|---|---|
Buds | 5 Hours | 7 Hours |
Charging Case | 26 Hours | 35 Hours |
The battery numbers can warry,
For example, if you keep the bud’s volume at 100% all the time then the battery life will come down, at the same, if you keep the volume at 40% then you will have even better battery life.
